VIOLAN – Filz auf pflanzlicher Basis

 

VIOLAN verbindet die charakteristische Optik und angenehme Haptik von Filz mit pflanzlich basierten Materialien – ganz ohne tierische Bestandteile.

Der Filz besteht aus 70 % Polylactide und 30 % Lyocell. Polylactide werden aus pflanzlichen Ausgangsstoffen hergestellt, Lyocell ist eine Cellulosefaser. Dadurch unterscheidet sich VIOLAN in seiner Materialzusammensetzung deutlich von klassischem Wollfilz und Filz aus Polyester.

Optisch und haptisch erinnert VIOLAN an Wollfilz. Das Material fühlt sich angenehm an, ist formstabil und lässt sich vielseitig verarbeiten.

Da VIOLAN keine tierischen Bestandteile enthält, eignet sich der Filz auch für alle, die bei ihren Wohn- und Alltagsprodukten bewusst auf Materialien tierischen Ursprungs verzichten möchten.

In meiner Manufaktur verarbeite ich VIOLAN unter anderem zu Sitzkissen, Bankauflagen, Tischläufern, Herdabdeckungen und weiteren Wohnaccessoires aus Filz.

Pflege von VIOLAN

VIOLAN sollte ähnlich schonend behandelt werden wie Wolle und andere empfindliche Textilien.

Das Material kann bei Schonwäsche in der Waschmaschine gewaschen werden. Verwende am besten ein Feinwaschmittel und verzichte auf Bleichmittel.

Bitte nicht schleudern. Nach dem Waschen das Material vorsichtig in Form bringen und liegend trocknen lassen. Einzelne Flecken möglichst schonend und ohne aggressive Reinigungsmittel behandeln.

Beim Bügeln das Bügeleisen bitte auf die Einstellung „Wolle“ stellen.

VIOLAN combines the characteristic look and pleasant feel of felt with plant-based materials – completely free from animal-derived components.

The felt is made from 70% polylactide and 30% lyocell. Polylactide is produced from plant-based raw materials, while lyocell is a cellulose fibre. This gives VIOLAN a material composition that differs significantly from traditional wool felt and polyester felt.

In both appearance and feel, VIOLAN resembles wool felt. The material has a pleasant texture, is dimensionally stable and can be used for a wide variety of applications.

As VIOLAN contains no animal-derived components, it is also a suitable choice for anyone who prefers to avoid materials of animal origin in home and everyday products.

In my workshop, I use VIOLAN to create seat cushions, bench cushions, table runners, hob covers and other felt home accessories.

Care instructions for VIOLAN

VIOLAN should be treated with similar care to wool and other delicate textiles.

The material can be machine washed on a delicate cycle. We recommend using a mild detergent and avoiding bleach.

Please do not spin. After washing, gently reshape the material and leave it to dry flat. Individual stains should also be treated as gently as possible without using harsh cleaning agents.

When ironing, set the iron to the “Wool” setting.
